Adding skills manually works great, but if you already have a résumé, there's a faster way. JobIntel's Resume Scan uses AI to extract skills directly from your résumé and add them to your profile in seconds.
Head to the Skills page and scroll down to the Resume section. This is where you upload a résumé to scan. It accepts PDF and DOCX files - just use whatever format your résumé is already in.
Drag your résumé into the drop zone, or click to select the file. JobIntel sends it to our AI, which reads through the document, identifies your skills, tools, and methods, and maps them to our skill ontology. It usually takes only a few seconds.
The skills the scan finds land right in your My Skills list. Take a moment to review them. Remove anything that doesn't belong - maybe a tool you touched once years ago - because you're always in control of what stays in your profile.
Your scanned résumé is saved as your active résumé, with a "last scanned" timestamp. Skills that came from a scan are tracked separately from ones you typed in, so you always know where each one came from. Update your résumé later, and you can re-scan to refresh.
Update your résumé later, and you can re-scan it. JobIntel shows you what changed - newly found skills, and ones no longer detected - and it never removes the skills you added by hand. And from here you can open the Resume Viewer, which puts your résumé side by side with JobIntel's analysis: what you're already doing well, and concrete fixes, like quantifying an achievement with a real number or adding your LinkedIn URL.
Résumé scanning is the fastest way to build a comprehensive skill profile. The more complete your skills, the more accurate your match scores across every job in your feed. And because résumé-sourced skills are tracked separately from manual ones, you always have full visibility into where each came from.
Your profile is complete and your skills are loaded. Now it's time for the good part - exploring your job feed. Let's dive in.
