Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the JobIntel platform at jobintel.com (the "Service"), operated by JobIntel LLC ("JobIntel," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("you" or "User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and JobIntel LLC. Please read them carefully.


2. Description of Service

JobIntel is a job search intelligence platform that helps professionals manage their job search. The Service aggregates job postings from multiple sources, deduplicates them, scores their credibility, matches them against your skill profile, and provides a prioritized job feed.

Key features of the Service include (subject to your subscription tier):

  • Job listing ingestion via URL paste, text/HTML paste, email forwarding, and automated API sources
  • AI-powered job description parsing and skill extraction
  • Skill matching and gap analysis
  • Credibility scoring of job postings
  • Company research and hiring intelligence
  • Application tracking
  • Skill demand trend analysis
  • Market insights and aggregate statistics

The Service is provided over the internet as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product. Features, functionality, and availability may change over time as we improve the platform.


3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3.2 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. Providing false or misleading information may result in suspension or termination of your account.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (email and password). You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@jobintel.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.4 One Account Per Person

Each individual may maintain only one JobIntel account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limitations or for any other purpose is a violation of these Terms and may result in termination of all associated accounts.


4. Free and Paid Tiers

4.1 Free Tier

JobIntel offers a free tier that includes:

  • Manual job listing ingestion via URL paste and text/HTML paste
  • A maximum of 50 active job listings at any time
  • Basic skill matching against your configured skill profile
  • Access to your job feed and dashboard

4.2 Paid Tier

The paid tier ("JobIntel Pro") is available at the following prices:

  • Monthly plan: $8.99 per month
  • Quarterly plan: $23.99 per quarter (equivalent to approximately $8.00 per month)
  • Annual plan: $79.99 per year (equivalent to approximately $6.67 per month)

The paid tier includes all free tier features plus:

  • Email forwarding ingestion -- forward job alert emails directly to JobIntel for automatic parsing
  • Unlimited active job listings (no 50-listing cap)
  • Credibility scoring of job postings
  • Company research and hiring intelligence
  • Composite readiness score with configurable weights
  • Skill demand trend analysis and market insights
  • Application tracking with status stages
  • Outreach intelligence and follow-up reminders
  • API-based automated job ingestion from supported job boards

4.3 Feature Changes

We reserve the right to modify the features included in each tier. If we materially reduce the features available in the paid tier, we will provide at least 30 days' notice to affected subscribers.


5. Billing and Payments

5.1 Payment Processing

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing to a paid tier, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. JobIntel does not collect, store, or process credit card numbers or bank account details. All payment method information is handled directly by Stripe.

5.2 Subscription and Auto-Renewal

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for each renewal period.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid tier features until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your account will revert to the free tier.

5.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry the charge over a period of approximately 7 to 10 days using Stripe Smart Retries. During this retry period, you will retain full access to paid tier features (a "grace period"). If all retry attempts are exhausted and payment is not collected, your account will be downgraded to the free tier. You will not be locked out of your account, and no data will be deleted.

5.5 Refund Policy

  • Monthly subscriptions: You may request a full refund within 7 days of any monthly subscription charge. No refunds are issued after the 7-day window.
  • Annual subscriptions: You may request a full refund within 7 days of an annual subscription charge. Between 8 and 30 days after the charge, you may request a prorated refund for the unused portion of the annual term. No refunds are issued after 30 days from the annual subscription charge date.
  • How to request a refund: Contact us at support@jobintel.com with your account email and the reason for your request. Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days.

5.6 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period following the notice. If you do not agree with the new pricing, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.


6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service in any way that:

  • Scrapes or harvests data -- you may not use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or other means to extract, copy, or download data from the Service, except through APIs we explicitly provide for that purpose
  • Exceeds authorized access -- you may not access or attempt to access features, data, systems, or accounts that you are not authorized to access
  • Shares accounts -- you may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access the Service through your account
  • Reverse engineers -- you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or data models of the Service
  • Interferes with the Service -- you may not take any action that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, introduces malware or malicious code, or disrupts the Service for other users
  • Violates laws -- you may not use the Service for any purpose that is illegal under applicable local, state, national, or international law
  • Infringes rights -- you may not upload or submit content that infringes the intellectual property rights or privacy rights of any third party
  • Abuses the support system -- you may not submit fraudulent, abusive, or harassing communications through the support system
  • Circumvents restrictions -- you may not attempt to bypass free tier limitations, subscription gating, rate limiting, or other technical restrictions

Violation of these Acceptable Use terms may result in suspension or termination of your account at our sole discretion.


7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, algorithms, user interface, documentation, branding, and all related intellectual property, is owned by JobIntel LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited license to use it as described herein.

7.2 Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the data you submit to the Service, including your profile information, job listings you add, skills you configure, application tracking data, notes, and other content you create ("Your Data").

7.3 License to Process Your Data

By using the Service, you grant JobIntel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, store, and display Your Data solely for the purpose of providing, maintaining, and improving the Service. This includes:

  • Processing job descriptions through our AI systems for parsing, matching, and scoring
  • Creating anonymized, aggregate job identity records for cross-user intelligence features
  • Displaying your data back to you through the Service interface

This license terminates when you delete your account, except for anonymized aggregate data that does not identify you.

7.4 Feedback

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.


8. AI-Generated Content

8.1 Nature of AI Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate certain content and analysis, including but not limited to:

  • Parsed and structured job listing data
  • Skill extraction and matching scores
  • Credibility scores for job postings
  • Company research summaries and hiring intelligence
  • Contact suggestions and outreach recommendations
  • Readiness scores and gap analysis

8.2 Accuracy Disclaimer

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information. AI analysis is provided as a tool to assist your job search, not as a definitive source of truth. Specifically:

  • Credibility scores are estimates based on available signals and may not accurately reflect the legitimacy of a job posting
  • Company research is generated from available data and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated
  • Skill matching is based on AI interpretation of job descriptions and may not perfectly reflect actual job requirements
  • Contact suggestions are pattern-based estimates and may not be accurate

8.3 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for independently verifying any information provided by the Service before relying on it for job search decisions, employment decisions, or any other purpose. AI-generated content is not a substitute for your own research and judgment.


9. Data Preservation

Your data is important to us. The following data preservation commitments apply regardless of your subscription status:

  • Subscription downgrade -- if you downgrade from the paid tier to the free tier, all of your data is preserved. Your profile, skills, saved job listings, application history, notes, and all other data remain intact. You continue to have access within the limits of the free tier.
  • Subscription cancellation -- if you cancel your paid subscription, your data is preserved in the same manner as a downgrade. Nothing is deleted.
  • Failed payments -- if your subscription lapses due to failed payments, your data is preserved. Your account reverts to the free tier, but no data is lost.

Data is only deleted when you explicitly request account deletion. See our Privacy Policy for details on the account deletion process.


10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

JobIntel LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Service exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Without limiting the foregoing, we are not responsible for:

  • Job search outcomes, including whether you receive interviews, offers, or employment
  • The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content (see Section 8)
  • The availability, accuracy, or content of third-party job postings or websites
  • Actions taken by employers, recruiters, or other third parties
  • Interruptions in service due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • Availability -- we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free
  • Accuracy -- we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, data, or analysis provided through the Service
  • Security -- while we implement industry-standard security measures, we cannot guarantee that the Service will be completely secure or free from vulnerabilities
  • Third-party services -- we do not warrant the performance, availability, or practices of third-party services integrated with the Service (Stripe, Anthropic, AWS, job board APIs)

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page in your dashboard, or by contacting us at support@jobintel.com. Account deletion includes a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel the request. After the grace period, your personal data will be permanently anonymized, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you have an active paid subscription, deleting your account will cancel your subscription. No further charges will be made. Refunds for the remaining period are subject to the refund policy in Section 5.5.

12.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms, including the Acceptable Use provisions in Section 6
  • Your use of the Service poses a security risk to us or other users
  • Your account has been inactive for more than 24 months (we will attempt to notify you via email before termination for inactivity)
  • We are required to do so by law or legal process

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. If we terminate your account for reasons other than Terms violations, we will provide a reasonable opportunity (at least 30 days) to export your data before deletion.


13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.


14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Good-Faith Negotiation

Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceedings, you agree to first contact us at support@jobintel.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation within 30 days.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If the dispute cannot be resolved through informal negotiation within 30 days, either party may initiate binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, or remotely via video conference if mutually agreed.

The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If for any reason a claim proceeds in court rather than in arbitration, you waive any right to a jury trial.

14.4 Exceptions

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.


15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time.

  • Material changes -- for significant changes to these Terms, we will notify you via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Material changes include modifications to billing terms, liability provisions, dispute resolution procedures, or any changes that materially affect your rights or obligations.
  • Non-material changes -- for minor updates (clarifications, formatting, typographical corrections), we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service before the changes take effect and may request account deletion.


16. General Provisions

16.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JobIntel LLC regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

16.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any term shall only be effective if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of JobIntel LLC.

16.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

16.5 Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemic, government actions, power failures, internet disruptions, or failures of third-party services.
