Skills are at the heart of JobIntel's matching engine. Every job you add gets analyzed for required and preferred skills, and then compared against yours. Let's set up your skill profile.

Click on Skills in the sidebar to open the skills page. You'll see three main sections: My Skills at the top, which shows the skills you've added so far; Browse and Search Skills in the middle, where you can discover skills from our ontology; and Resume Scan at the bottom, which we'll cover in the next video.

JobIntel organizes skills into broad professional categories - Healthcare, Education, Information Technology, Finance and Accounting, Sales and Marketing, and more. Click a category to browse what's inside. Healthcare, for example, lists skills like patient assessment and care planning; Education lists curriculum design and special education support; and Information Technology lists Python and cloud architecture. Each skill has an Add button next to it.

When you click Add on a skill, you set two things: your proficiency level and your years of experience. Proficiency ranges from Beginner to Expert. Be realistic here - this isn't a test, it's a calibration tool. JobIntel uses your proficiency to calculate how well you match a job's requirements, and your years of experience add context.

If you know exactly what you're looking for, use the search bar at the top of Browse. Start typing a skill name and the list filters in real time, across every category at once. It's the fastest way to find and add a specific skill without hunting through the categories.

The skills you add show up in the My Skills section as badges, each showing the skill name and your proficiency level. To remove one, just click the X on its badge. Add as many as you want - the more complete your skill profile, the more accurate your match scores. And don't stop at technical skills; include the tools, methods, and soft skills that describe how you actually work.

Here is how the matching works. When you add a job to JobIntel, our AI analyzes the job description and extracts the required and preferred skills. Then it maps those skills against your profile. Your Match score is the percentage of required skills you have. If a job requires patient assessment, care coordination, and electronic health records, and you have two of the three, your Match score is sixty-seven percent. The job detail page also shows you exactly which skills you are missing, in a section called Skills to Build, so you know where to focus. This is what makes JobIntel more than a job board. It is a strategic tool.

Great work. You've got your skills set up. But there's an even faster way to build your skill profile - scanning your résumé. Let's cover that next.
