The Free Preview Is Over
Since March, JobIntel has been free. Every feature, every search, no charge, no catch. That ends today.
I want to tell you exactly what is changing, what it costs, and why, because the fastest way to lose your trust is to get cute about money.
Why it was free, and why that is ending
When I launched in March, JobIntel was a few weeks old and I had a thesis to test: that job seekers are flying blind, and that giving them the same intelligence employers already have would change how they search. The only way to test that was to put it in your hands and watch what happened.
So I gave it away. Thousands of you used it. You flagged ghost jobs, scored listings, and found the roles that were actually real. The thesis held.
But a free product is not a business, and a job-search tool that disappears in six months because the founder ran out of runway is worse than useless. If I want JobIntel to be here next year, shipping features and paying for the infrastructure that scores every listing, it has to pay for itself. That is the whole reason for this change.
What is changing, and it got simpler, not greedier
Here is the part most companies bury. I am putting it first.
I killed the tiers. There is no more "free version" with the good stuff locked behind a paid upgrade. There are no feature gates, no "you have used 3 of your 5 searches this month" nags, no quiet downgrades. Everyone who pays for JobIntel gets all of it. The product got simpler, not stingier.
What replaces the old free ride:
- Four weeks free. The full product, every feature, no limits. Enough time to run a real search and decide whether it earns a place in your toolkit.
- Then you choose. Monthly or yearly, picked at sign-up. If you do nothing, the plan you chose begins. If you do not want to continue, you opt out and you are done. No retention maze, no "are you sure" guilt trip.
- Your data is yours. Leave whenever you want and I email you a copy of everything. I am not holding your search history hostage to make leaving annoying.
A credit card is required to start the trial. I went back and forth on that one. The real reason: it keeps the four weeks for people actually evaluating the product rather than for endless throwaway accounts, and it makes the cutover one decision instead of two. You are not charged during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends.
What it costs
No "contact us." No "starting at." Here are the numbers.
For job seekers: $8.99 a month, or $89.90 a year. The annual price is ten months for twelve, so two months free if you commit. If you are outside the US, you can pay in your own currency, in euros, British pounds, Swiss francs, or Indian rupees, at local pricing, so you are not watching a foreign charge and a conversion fee land on your statement.
For career coaches, pricing is based on how many clients you actively work with, in three plain tiers: Starter, Professional, and Business. A coach managing a handful of clients pays far less than a firm running forty. The full grid is on the pricing page.
That is the entire menu. There is no hidden enterprise tier and no add-on you discover at checkout.
What I am not doing
Transparency cuts both ways, so here is what I am promising not to do.
I am not going to raise the price on you after you sign up and hope you do not notice. I am not going to gate a feature you rely on and then sell it back to you. I am not going to make canceling a scavenger hunt. And the people who signed up early, during the free preview, and were promised free access for life: you keep it. Nothing about today changes that. A promise is a promise.
The part I do not love
I am not thrilled to be the guy who made the free thing cost money. Nobody is. But I would rather tell you the truth, that it was free to prove it worked and now it costs nine dollars a month so it can keep existing, than dress it up as a thrilling new chapter.
If JobIntel saved you from one wasted week chasing a job that was never real, it paid for itself for a year. If it did not, you will know inside four weeks, and you can walk away with your data and no hard feelings.
The free preview is over. The product is better than it was in March, the pricing is simpler than I first planned, and none of it is hidden. Start your four weeks at jobintel.com and decide for yourself.
