Version 3.8.5
Tidier location insights, stronger European search, and fewer errors
3.8.5 focuses on making your results more complete and the app more dependable — location insights that read the way you'd say them, noticeably more jobs in European markets, and an intermittent error gone for good.
Tidier location insights
- One entry per place. "Reston, VA", "Reston, Virginia", and "Reston, Fairfax County" used to show up as three separate entries in Skill Demand Trends → Location Distribution. Variants like these now merge into a single entry, so the chart reflects where the jobs actually are — and clicking an entry shows the jobs from every variant it covers.
- Works across all our markets. The same grouping understands local spellings and accents ("München" and "Munchen"), district names ("Berlin Kreuzberg" under Berlin), and country-name variations, in every country JobIntel supports.
- No more stray text in location names. Jobs saved from LinkedIn email alerts could carry leftover text like "8 connections" glued onto the location, creating odd entries such as "United States8 connections". New jobs are parsed cleanly, and existing entries have been repaired.
More jobs found in European markets
- We now search in the local language. In markets like Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, one of our largest job sources indexes roles under local-language titles — an English search for "Python Engineer" could come back empty while "Python Entwickler" finds plenty. JobIntel now automatically searches these markets with local-language job titles, so your searches surface the jobs that were always there.
- Fixed a UK location format that returned nothing. Locations written with a postcode, like "London, EC2P", could silently return no results from one of our sources. They're now cleaned up automatically before searching.
Reliability
- Goodbye, occasional Bad Gateway. A timing mismatch between the app and our infrastructure could occasionally surface a "502 Bad Gateway" error anywhere in the app. It's fixed, and we've seen none since.
We also spent a big part of this release strengthening JobIntel under the hood — tightening security, hardening our infrastructure, and improving our internal quality checks — so everything you do here keeps getting faster and more dependable.
