Version 3.7.0
Sharper resume tools, search that reaches further, and a steadier feed
3.7.0 is a polish release. No big new systems — just a set of fixes and refinements to the things you use every day: your resume tools, search, and your job feed.
Your whole resume gets read now
- No more silent truncation. Longer, two-page resumes used to get cut off at around 6,000 characters before analysis — and then the feedback would critique the part we never actually read. We raised that limit dramatically, so your full resume is what gets scored.
- Table and text-box resumes import correctly. Resumes built from Word templates that use tables or text boxes used to upload blank. They now extract properly.
- Scanned and photographed resumes work now. Upload an image-only PDF — a scan or a phone photo — and we read it with text recognition instead of silently coming back with zero skills. If a scan is too blurry to read reliably, we tell you clearly to upload a sharper copy or a text-based file, rather than guessing and getting it wrong.
- Guidance is consistent. Every applicable best-practice check now runs on every scan, instead of a different subset each time — so the advice you get is complete and repeatable.
Tailored resumes and cover letters that fit
- Generated resumes stay within one to two pages. When you build a tailored resume for a specific job, it's trimmed to a clean one- or two-page length instead of spilling onto a fourth page — and long headings no longer get clipped at the edge of the page.
- Cover letters generate reliably. A bug that could make cover-letter generation fail is fixed, so you get a finished, well-formed draft every time.
Search reaches further — and filters the way you'd expect
- Local-language search now reaches more countries. Belgium (Dutch, French, German), Switzerland (German, French, Italian), Canada (French), Turkey, and Ukraine now search in their own languages too — type "Registered Nurse" for a Turkish city and we also look for "hemşire," so you get the local listings an English-only search was missing.
- Fuller German listings. Jobs from Germany's Federal Employment Agency now arrive with their complete descriptions instead of a bare summary.
- Add Job → Find now reaches every source Auto Search does. When you paste a title or drop a screenshot into Add Job → Find, it searches the same wide set of job boards your Auto Search uses — including the European sources that carry listings Google doesn't. So markets that used to come back empty (like Czechia) now return results, in the right country and local language, and Find agrees with Auto Search for the same search.
- Find is faster and steadier. The first search of the day no longer takes long enough to time out before results arrive, and a distance you mention ("within 30 miles", "75 km radius") is applied to the search.
- Found jobs come in complete. Picking a result from Add Job → Find now brings the full posting — description and pay range included — instead of just a title and company.
- The Auto Search country list now matches exactly the markets we've verified — no more selecting a market that quietly comes back empty.
- Filter your feed by any city. The Location filter on the Jobs page now works by city name — filter to "Boise" directly instead of being forced to pick a ZIP code that city-level listings could never match.
A safer, smoother job feed
- Bulk delete asks first. Clearing jobs from your feed used to silently remove any that were also tracked on your Applications board. Now you get a clear heads-up before any tracked jobs are removed.
- Match scores line up everywhere. The match shown on a job's detail page now matches what you see in your feed, and only the skills actually in your profile count toward it — no more phantom skills nudging the number.
- No more stuck "Matching…". Listings that couldn't be scored used to sit on "Matching…" indefinitely. They now settle to a clear state.
New: Video Shorts on the Blog
A Video Shorts tab on the Blog page gathers our short (30-second to two-minute) clips in one place — quick, focused tips you can watch in a minute.
Reliability fixes
- No more duplicate weekly-summary emails. A worker race that could send the same weekly summary twice is fixed.
- Steadier mock-interview sessions. We closed a database-connection leak that could stall live interview streams under load.
