Version 3.11.0

A feed is only as good as what goes into it. 3.11.0 spends most of its effort there: on which jobs reach you, in what order, and whether the text you read is the text the employer wrote.

Fresher jobs come first

• A two-year-old posting no longer outranks this morning's. Ranking now accounts for how recently a job was posted, so the top of your feed is the part of it you can still act on.
• Useful ordering before you upload a résumé. New accounts used to see an essentially unranked feed until a résumé was on file. There is now a baseline quality ranking from the first search, and it steps aside the moment your real match scores arrive.
• A job with no score says so. A listing whose scoring genuinely failed now says Not scored instead of sitting on "Matching…", and a job that was waiting on skill analysis is scored as soon as that analysis lands rather than being passed over.

More jobs, from more places

• Germany's federal job board is back. The Bundesagentur für Arbeit board had been returning nothing for months after the provider retired the version of their service we were calling. Germany — one of eight supported countries — had no domestic board coverage in that time, and the failure looked identical to "no jobs matched". It is working again.
• Two more sources switched on. Reed and The Muse were selectable but had never actually been connected, so turning them on could only ever return nothing. They are now wired end to end.
• Searches stop asking sources that can't answer. Each job source publishes the countries it covers. Searches outside those limits used to be sent anyway and come back empty; the search now respects each provider's own published coverage, which makes an empty result mean something.
• A wide search says what it's waiting on. A search sitting behind a queue reports that, and stops calling itself queued once it isn't.

Listings that read properly

• Garbled characters are repaired at the source. Accented and non-English characters from some sources were arriving mis-decoded — the classic ’ in place of an apostrophe. That is fixed where the listings come in. Existing listings that were stored damaged are being repaired separately.
• No more stray HTML in descriptions. Tags were leaking into descriptions from two sources by two different routes. Both are closed off at the boundary.
• Contract day rates are no longer shown as salaries. A £500/day UK contract was being displayed as if it were an annual figure.
• Salaries read in your own convention. Thousands separators, decimal marks and range formatting now follow the reader's locale, and read identically on the web and on your phone.
• Dates that make sense. A posting dated in the future no longer reads "-1 days ago".
• Sources are named for what they are. Adding a job by hand referred to a supplier's brand name rather than the feature you were using.

Knowing which listings to trust

• Credibility has its own words. Credibility scores were borrowing the vocabulary used for application readiness, which made two unrelated numbers look like the same measurement. They now read distinctly, and the cut-off for a listing being called Suspicious is a single published number rather than something that varied by screen.
• Fraud warnings stand on their own. A warning about a likely fraudulent posting had been folded into a row with other information, where it was easy to miss.

Your feed, as you left it

• Back works. Filters, sorting, search terms and your place in the list now live in the page address, so opening a job and pressing Back returns you to the feed you had — and you can bookmark or share a filtered view.
• The newest results win. Changing filters quickly could leave an earlier, slower response overwriting a newer one, so the feed showed results for a filter you had already moved on from.
• The Tracked badge appears in every state, not only on jobs that happen to be fully scored.

Mock interviews

• The answer box keeps your work. Three separate ways your typed answer could be lost are fixed.
• "10 questions" means ten questions. The count now refers to questions rather than to conversational turns, and the generated question bank is kept for the session rather than rebuilt.
• The interviewer knows where it is. It tracks its own progress through the interview and closes properly at the end instead of continuing past it.
• Starting an interview reports what happened. A rejected start used to look like a two-minute silence; it now tells you immediately.
• Scores are calculated correctly. Each part of the feedback rubric is now scored against its own maximum instead of a shared one, which had distorted the totals.

Coaching

• A coach's branding shows the coach's name. Branded coaching pages were displaying a generic label instead of the coach's own name.
• Personal and coach-shared data stay separate, including before any coach has ever viewed the account.
• Skill-demand trends count the same jobs everywhere, so the web and the app agree.

Your account

• Stop a deletion you've changed your mind about. Account erasure has a waiting period, and you can now cancel it yourself from the web instead of contacting support. If your account is already scheduled for deletion, the app says so plainly rather than only in passing.
• Résumé uploads count correctly. Uploading several files at once could get past the version limit; and the versions list now refreshes after every action that creates a version, instead of going stale.
• Support tickets submit faster — the confirmation emails are now sent after your ticket is filed rather than holding up the response.

On iPhone and iPad

The JobIntel app is in closed testing and is not yet on the App Store. Most of this release's engineering went into bringing it level with the web app — the feed, job details, application tracking, coaching, mock interviews and skill trends now behave the same way on both. We'll say more when it's ready for everyone.
